Message from The Executive Director
While the turmoil in the global economy is impacting Canada we do not need to panic and move to a 'slash and burn' cost cutting mentality, indeed that is the worst thing to do. While for most of us business will be tougher, there is no reason why we should 'hunker down' in the same way we did in 2008-2009. Not only is our economy fundamentally strong, but our need to improve innovation and productivity should drive investment in people. As the recent Conference Board Report "Learning & Development Outlook October 2011" pointed out there is a relationship between our poor innovation and productivity ranking and our lack of investment in employee, management and executive training and education. We still need to hire the best talent, retain and motivate them and develop them. Canada's economic and social prospects will only get better if we continuously do so.
In every organization within every public and private sector, high performance employees are the key to innovation, expansion, profitability and service excellence. No matter what your organizational objectives, outstanding employees will help you close the gap between where you are now and where you want to be. Employee education remains an excellent investment in your organization's future.
For those individuals looking to open up new opportunities, new roles and even new career paths, a Schulich Executive Education Program will provide you with the cutting-edge skills and advanced knowledge that will help move your career forward. When you need to reach the next level, an investment in your education will provide outstanding returns.
The recent recession has taught us that effective management requires an understanding of the broader implications of our actions. No longer can we focus on one piece of the puzzle without considering the better strategy, the significant players and of course, the end-game. To manage in a world where almost everything is a click or two away requires a new set of skills beyond traditional finance, marketing, sales or logistics knowledge. Today's leaders must understand all of the forces impacting their organization and have the capability to choose the best combination of moves to achieve success.
Every year, over 16,000 leaders from across Canada and from around the world take advantage of SEEC's broad range of educational programs.
