University of Winnipeg Profile
The University of Winnipeg received its charter in 1967 but its roots date back more than 130 years. The founding colleges were Manitoba College (1871), and Wesley College (1888), which merged to form United College in 1938.
The University of Winnipeg is one of Canada’s leading post-secondary institutions. The University of Winnipeg Division of Continuing Education’s (DCE) primary goal is to offer programming that reflects the needs of the community. DCE offers a wide range of full- and part-time courses, programs, certificates, and diplomas in the areas of Professional Studies, International Languages, Aboriginal Perspectives, Educational Assistant, Information Technology, Indigenous Police Preparation program,Aboriginal Information & Communication Technologies Diploma, Introduction to University, Writer's, Gerontology, 55 Plus; and Custom Programs and Strategic Training Partnerships.
