At the Schulich School of Business, more than just pictures adorn the walls for students, faculty and staff to enjoy. Those who visit and study at the Miles S. Nadal Mangement Centre, Schulich’s downtown campus at King and Bay, can delight in new works of art every year, as part of the Art@Suite500 program launched more than two decades ago.

Submitted works are selected each year by a jury and remain exhibited for one year. The result is both a rotating and a permanent collection of art in a variety of mediums by graduates of the Visual Arts program. Each year, the jury also selects a Purchase Prize winner.

This year’s winning work, by Catherine Gauthier, is titled Brother,  a 78-by-66-inch mixed-media work in acrylic, acryl gouache and image transfer, on Japanese paper.

“Art@Suite 500 is an incredible program integrating selected artwork by York’s Fine Arts students into the Schulich School of Business downtown campus. The result is a welcoming place that offers students endless sources of inspiration and conversation,” said Judy Schulich, who sits on the selection jury.

The jury consists of faculty from Schulich and the School of the Arts, Media, Performance and Design, as well as friends of the school like Judy Schulich, a curator of the art in the Seymour Schulich Building at the Keele Campus.
